Samurai Shodown 3: Blades of Blood (サムライスピリッツ斬紅郎無双剣, Samurai Spirits: The Peerless Blade of Zankuro) is the third entry in the Samurai Shodown franchise, developed by SNK and released in 1995 for the Neo Geo arcade system. It was a radical departure from its predecessor, Samurai Shodown II, featuring a darker tone and art style, redesigned characters, and many new mechanics.
Zankuro Minazuki is a really big dude with a really big sword who really likes killing people. Like, that’s his thing. Killing people with his big sword. A number of people -- 12 of them, actually, all pretty good with some kind of weapon -- think that Zankuro going around killing people is bad, and wrong. But rather than try to come up with a new, stronger word for killing, they all decide that fighting him would be a pretty effective way of getting him to stop killing people.
Alright, this is the third Samurai Shodown wiki on Mizuumi now, what gives?
While the Samurai Shodown series is indeed seemingly a bit out of place on Mizuumi, being an (ostensibly) honest, slow-paced and grounded SNK franchise, Samurai Shodown 3 is... well, the ground game is still there, of course, and it's still an SNK game. However, there's a bit more, shall we say, variety in its offense that gives it more in common with some of the wilder titles represented here -- moreso than the game's pedigree might suggest.
