Story

Higan Swordsman - 彼岸の剣客

He started to eliminate the people involved one by one...

Introduction

 During the Great War, he went to Germany as a member of a military affairs delegation.
 As a military surgeon, Fritz was involved in a certain research.
 He went missing after the war, but he reappeared along with Akatsuki's comeback
 and started to eliminate the people involved one by one...

Stage 1 - Marilyn

Fritz pursued Akatsuki who entered Shanghai.

He was confronted by a mafia assassin going after Akatsuki's Blitz Motor...

• (**) Higan (彼岸) is a Buddhist holiday exclusively celebrated by Japanese sects during both the Spring and Autumnal equinox. [1]

• (*1) Kanae is assigned to the Ground Staff Office (陸上幕僚監部) abreviated here as 陸幕 (Rikubaku), so I used the equivalent acronym. The GSO is a special agency of the Ministry of Defense that commands the GSDF. [2]

• (*2) Asura in its Buddhist context is sometimes translated as "titan" or "demigod". These powerful beings are described as having three heads with three faces each and either four or six arms. The Buddhist asuras are derived from the asuras of Hinduism. [3] [4]

• (*3) Mugai-ryuu - 無骸流 (no-corpse style/school), the sword style mentioned by Fritz here seems to be a reference to the series Blade of the Immortal (無限の住人 - Mugen no Juunin) which has a dojo with the same name. [5]

• (*4) 生々流転 (seiseiruten; shoujouruten) "the circle of transmigration" also "the circle of life". This is a four-character idiom from Buddhism meaning: all things being in flux through the endless circle of birth, death, and rebirth.

• (*5) In this sentence Fritz uses schneiden (ger: cut, slice) to replace 斬る (kiru): to kill (a human) using a blade; to slice (off); to lop (off); to cut (off).
