What's Fightcade? / Where can I get Fightcade?
Where can I get the ROM for Avengers/Where can I download the Boss/Assist Hack?
You can get the Avengers in Galactic Storm ROM as well as the boss/assist hack from the FC2 JSON. The download link and instructions on how to use the JSON are here.

I'm getting a screen that says "PUSH TEST SWITCH TO RESET OPTIONS" when I open the game, and it doesn't let me pass.
On the top of the emulator window, go to Video and disable Runahead. After that, press F3 or reopen the game and it should work properly.
Game Mechanics & Characters
Are any characters or assists banned?
In the boss hack Galen Kor is banned by majority vote from the community. For the vanilla version of the game there are no banned characters, as Galen Kor is not playable. No assists are banned in either version of the game.
What are the differences between the Boss Hack and the vanilla version of the game?
The Boss Hack makes Galen Kor playable and allows for all assists to be selected by any character, including a boss version of the Sentry assist. As such despite Galen Kor currently being banned, it offers a different metagame due to the existence of character/assist combos not available in vanilla.
