Sesshomaru (殺生丸)

Introduction

Are you challenging me? Pathetic, stop it.
Character Voice: Ken Narita

Sesshomaru, the half-brother of Inuyasha, is an oddball character character to put it lightly. He doesn't cater well to one specific play-style, and has various odd tools for different purposes, but is most regularly played as a zoner. Sesshomaru is largely defined by two things; his great 2SP special, which is one of the best dedicated meterless anti-airs in the game and the crux of his zoning gameplan, and his not-so-great inability to do meaningful damage against crouchers because 5SP cannot hit crouching opponents...

While not a completely incompetent character, Sessho can take an excessive amount of patience and effort to find results with, but is definitely a good pick for a player who likes to set the pace of the match themselves and play strategically.

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Decently long ranged pokes in 2W, 5W and 5S
  • Can do flashy, good damage and high corner carry combos off of hits on standing opponents with 5SP
  • 2SP is a huge and relatively quick anti-air, and largely Sessho's most important move
  • Aside from combos, 5SP is good for chip damage and attempting to approach if you need to
  • 66SP / Super is fantastic at punishing things, especially projectiles, from midscreen due to its very fast start-up and high damage/range
  • InuFFT sessho judgmental.png
  • 5SP whiffs on crouchers (including the 5SP ender from his auto-combos), severely hindering Sessho's damage and corner carry on crouchers
  • 4SP, while large, can fail to cover Sessho from certain angles and large disjointed attacks, and is very slow which makes it inadequate for a reversal
  • 66SP / Super physically cannot hit opponents in the corner, due to his transformation's hitbox being locked to midscreen
  • Can get overwhelmed and backed into the corner easily due to 2SP having semi slow recovery and not having a projectile
