  • I'll be right back!: Hol Horse is one of the only characters that is able to run both forward and backwards, giving him more maneuverability than most characters.
  • Gun beats sword.: Hol Horse is capable of enhancing some of his special moves, giving them new properties such as causing knockdown.
  • You're up, J. Geil!: By spending 0.5 HH Gauge, Hol Horse can set up a trap that can be activated during nearly any action, complementing his zoning.

Pros Cons
  • Flexible Zoning: When fired from "You lose, loser!", each of Hol Horse's bullets cover different directions that can be used to vary his zoning options. "Even my bullets are part of my Stand!" can also change directions up to 2 times (4 times while enhanced), making it adaptable depending on the situation.
  • Priority Projectiles: When enhanced, Hol Horse's bullets are capable of beating out nearly every non-GHA projectile in the game, the only exceptions being HHA-level projectiles (which will cancel them), and other enhanced projectiles (which will clash and cancel both projectiles).
  • Unique Combo Breaker: When "You're up, J. Geil!" is set up, Hol Horse is able to call in Hanged Man even while being attacked. This gives him access to a unique combo breaker option that he can use to save himself, so as long as he's near the active puddle.
  • Linear Bullets: Hol Horse's bullets stay in the same lane that they were fired from, making Dodging quite an effective tool against them.
  • Slow Zoning: Hol Horse's projectiles are generally slower compared to other zoners, making him pale in comparison in terms of speed. While his enhanced bullets help him out against fellow zoners thanks to their priority, it's still an issue he has to face.

Hol Horse's meter gain and damage output can change depending on what the opponent's gender is; against female fighters, Hol Horse's attacks deal 10% more damage, but their meter gain rate is reduced. This is indicated on top of Hol Horse's HH Gauge via a JJASBR Hol Horse Passive Icon.png special icon that signals whether the effect is active or not.

Of note is that, for the purposes of this mechanic (and staying true to the character's origins), Foo Fighters is not considered a female character.

Hol Horse tosses a glass bottle full of water into the air before shooting it. Upon the bottle breaking, a puddle of water is left on the floor directly below.

  • Requires 0.5 HH Gauge.
  • The version used determines how far Hol Horse will throw the bottle.
  • The bottle will remain even if Hol Horse is hit before shooting it. On hit, it will launch and cause a hard knockdown.
  • The puddle will remain for 15 seconds, but will not manifest if the bottle is destroyed off-screen.

L version:

  • Shortest horizontal distance, with Hol Horse throwing the bottle right in front of him.
  • The bullet is fired at a 75° angle upwards.

M version:

  • Intermediate horizontal distance, with Hol Horse throwing the bottle about 1/3 of the screen.
  • The bullet is fired at a 45° angle upwards.

H version:

  • Longest horizontal distance, with Hol Horse throwing the bottle past midscreen.
  • The bullet is fired at a 35° angle upwards.
