Story

Barrierfreeman is actually made up of 2 originally distinct Choujins. Jijoman was an elderly, lecherous Choujin with a violent streak who was sealed in a tree 200 years ago as penance for repeated sexual harassment. In the present day, this tree would be found by Nils, a greenhorn Choujin wrestler popular with the senior citizen community. Jijoman tricked Nils into freeing him, subsequently fusing with Nils to form the composite Choujin Barrierfreeman, a champion for accessibility and a barrier-free future. In the Jijoman form, Nils would reside within Barrierfreeman's belly, while Jijoman would form Nils' right arm when the latter is in control.

By the time of Kinnikuman Nisei's sequel Ultimate Tag, the Jijoman form and persona seemed to have become the only Barrierfreeman mode. Due to his extremely limited screen time, this shift was never really explained.

Gameplay

Barrierfreeman is a very barebones character with an even more limited moveset, to the point that he might even come across as unfinished. For instance, he only has a total of 8 throws, essentially the bare minimum amount of throws a character can have in this game. This small moveset is made up by his "gimmick" of sorts: all of his strings bar one are natural combos, meaning hitting with the initial button guarantees that the entire string will connect. This includes a string that ends with a Heavy Stun, allowing Barrierfreeman to get a lot of damage from fast jab starters. Aside from this, Barrierfreeman also has a strong (if somewhat inconsistent) OTG tool in 66S.

On the other hand, despite his natural combos, Barrierfreeman's damage output is still somewhat middling in practice; his stubby buttons make his natural combos not as strong as they may seem on paper, and his juggles are quite poor in comparison. Additionally, at 950 health, Barrierfreeman is quite fragile.

Charging Animation

Barrierfreeman is one of two characters to have a uniquely long recovery for meter charging. Most characters can charge-cancel the recovery of their movement options to cut the recovery to roughly that of a movement speed A character, but doing this with Barrierfreeman will actually lengthen his recovery to a movement speed C character. This longer recovery animation also means that meter charging in neutral is a more committal option for Barrierfreeman, and doing a Charge Cancel Cancel (CCC), while not impossible, is much stricter. This is not too important in-practice, since considering Barrierfreeman's unique supers, he does not really have a practical use for doing a CCC anyways.

  • Poor juggle options; reliance on natural combos make Barrierfreeman's combos susceptible to be interrupted by True KKD.

A multi-hitting, low-profiling special move. Depending on the range, the move can connect for a different number of hits. Although each hit does MS, landing two hits on a standing opponent will cause a HS, and 3 hits will cause a knockdown. Hitting more than 3 hits is not possible on a standing opponent.
Where this move really shines is as an OTG tool, where connecting all 5 hits is possible, dealing a decent amount of damage. Due to this move's decently fast startup, Barrierfreeman can get this move off of a decent amount of knockdowns, though getting all 5 hits can be range and timing specific.
