Rev3 can be played with numerous different controllers for the Wii. Below is a table listing out the control types and their button mappings.

Numpad Notation
Numpad Notation is typically used to describe directional inputs within combos and descriptions as its a faster and more convenient method than finding icons or saying entire english words. However, throughout this wiki, icons will be used as a substitute for buttons and directions in names and info dumps.

Actual Controls - Movement
- In CONR3, the player has the ability to Walk in two directions by moving the Control Stick either right or left, to move forward () or back () respectively.
- The player also has the ability to Jump by tilting the Control Stick upward ( or 8). The direction of the jump can be altered by tilting the stick diagonally (7/9). They can also perform a Double Jump with 7/8/9 while in the air.
- A Forward Step can be performed with 66 or . By holding forward after such, the player will enter a Dash state, indicated with . Players can sidestep, jump, block or attack out of a run.
- A Back Step (the community calls it a Back Flip or Back Dash) can be performed with 44 or
- When walking, running or in an idle state, the player can Sidestep to their left or right with or specifically.
- Blocking can be performed on the ground or the air by holding .
- By mashing any button before the player hits the floor, they can Tech Roll', which will grant them some chakra.
- After being knocked down, when you get up you have multiple options. You can do a Get up Roll by holding a direction on the Control Stick. You can also press to do a Get up Teleport that will teleport you behind your opponent, and costs 50% of your meter. You can also do a Get up Kick by pressing . Finally you can do a Neutral Get up by not pressing any buttons.
Actual Controls - Attacking
- In CONR3, the player has the ability to perform Weak Attacks with , Strong Attacks with , Throws with and Super Attacks with .
- Combining a button with a direction will result in a different outcome. For example, Back Strong, 4A or .
- Pressing a button one after another will allow the player to perform a pre-determined String if available to the character. Eg: or more complex ones like
- Throws are unblockable but can be broken by pressing any attack button in response. All characters have a ground and an . Most characters also have a special or a special .
- A Y-cancel can be performed by pressing after certain grounded moves that launch the opponent or most moves that make contact with an airborne opponent.
Paper Bomb Stance
- By pressing/holding and together, the player can enter a Paper Bomb Stance or PBS.
- Within this stance, the player has 3 options: which allows them to activate paper bombs placed, which allows them to throw paper bombs toward the opponent (unblockable and reset gravity-scaling.) and which places the bomb on the ground.
- Some characters don't have these options, and instead gain an Unblockable Attack with and a Paper Bomb Erasing Crush with .
KnJ or Substitution
- A Sub or KnJ can be performed by pressing or while in hitstun. (This includes knockdown frames.)
- Used to escape damage strategically when 3 bars of chakra are acquired. There are two types of Subs, LSub () and RSub (). To summarize, LSubs are evasive substitutions while RSubs are offensive substitutions. On the system page they will be explained in more detail.
Z Button
- In 2V2 Modes, the button is used for Partner-Based Attacks.
- By pressing alone, The active character can switch themself with the standby character. By pressing , they can summon the standby character to do an assist. By pressing they can summon their standby character to perform an invincible reversal attack while simultaneously switching. This will be explained in further detail on the system page.
- In training mode, positions can be reset by pressing ++.
