Numpad Notation

Numpad.jpg

Numpad Notation is typically used to describe directional inputs within combos and descriptions as its a faster and more convenient method than finding icons or saying entire english words. However, throughout this wiki, icons will be used as a substitute for buttons and directions in names and info dumps.

Actual Controls - Movement

  • In CONR3, the player has the ability to Walk in two directions by moving the Control Stick either right or left, to move forward (Forward) or back (Back) respectively.
  • The player also has the ability to Jump by tilting the Control Stick upward (Up or 8). The direction of the jump can be altered by tilting the stick diagonally (7/9). They can also perform a Double Jump with 7/8/9 while in the air.
  • A Forward Step can be performed with 66 or Forward Forward . By holding forward after such, the player will enter a Dash state, indicated with Run. Players can sidestep, jump, block or attack out of a run.
  • A Back Step (the community calls it a Back Flip or Back Dash) can be performed with 44 or Back Back
  • When walking, running or in an idle state, the player can Sidestep to their left or right with Sidestep (Left) or Sidestep (Right) specifically.
  • Blocking can be performed on the ground or the air by holding Back.
  • By mashing any button before the player hits the floor, they can Tech Roll', which will grant them some chakra.
  • After being knocked down, when you get up you have multiple options. You can do a Get up Roll by holding a direction on the Control Stick. You can also press Strong Attack to do a Get up Teleport that will teleport you behind your opponent, and costs 50% of your meter. You can also do a Get up Kick by pressing Weak Attack. Finally you can do a Neutral Get up by not pressing any buttons.

Actual Controls - Attacking

  • In CONR3, the player has the ability to perform Weak Attacks with Weak Attack, Strong Attacks with Strong Attack, Throws with Throw and Super Attacks with Special Jutsu.
  • Combining a button with a direction will result in a different outcome. For example, Back Strong, 4A or Back Strong Attack.
  • Pressing a button one after another will allow the player to perform a pre-determined String if available to the character. Eg: Weak AttackWeak AttackSpecial Jutsu or more complex ones like ForwardWeak AttackWeak AttackStrong AttackWeak AttackStrong AttackThrow
  • Throws are unblockable but can be broken by pressing any attack button in response. All characters have a ground Throw and an Air Throw. Most characters also have a special Down Throw or a special Air Throw.
  • A Y-cancel can be performed by pressing Throw after certain grounded moves that launch the opponent or most moves that make contact with an airborne opponent.

Paper Bomb Stance

  • By pressing/holding Sidestep (Left) and Sidestep (Right) together, the player can enter a Paper Bomb Stance or PBS.
  • Within this stance, the player has 3 options: Weak Attack which allows them to activate paper bombs placed, Strong Attack which allows them to throw paper bombs toward the opponent (unblockable and reset gravity-scaling.) and DownStrong Attack which places the bomb on the ground.
  • Some characters don't have these options, and instead gain an Unblockable Attack with Strong Attack and a Paper Bomb Erasing Crush with Weak Attack.

KnJ or Substitution

  • A Sub or KnJ can be performed by pressing Sidestep (Left) or Sidestep (Right) while in hitstun. (This includes knockdown frames.)
  • Used to escape damage strategically when 3 bars of chakra are acquired. There are two types of Subs, LSub (Sidestep (Left)) and RSub (Sidestep (Right)). To summarize, LSubs are evasive substitutions while RSubs are offensive substitutions. On the system page they will be explained in more detail.

Z Button

  • In 2V2 Modes, the Swap button is used for Partner-Based Attacks.
  • By pressing Swap alone, The active character can switch themself with the standby character. By pressing DownSwap, they can summon the standby character to do an assist. By pressing BackSwap they can summon their standby character to perform an invincible reversal attack while simultaneously switching. This will be explained in further detail on the system page.
  • In training mode, positions can be reset by pressing Sidestep (Left)+Sidestep (Right)+Swap.
