Spins

Not explained in the in-game tutorial is applying spins. Spins can only be applied to the ball while using an Iron or a Wedge. Spins cannot be applied coming out of the sand or water, and some golfers cannot spin out of heavy rough.

• Backspin can be applied by holding down on the lever while selecting shot height. This is accompanied by an animation when the ball lands.
• Topspin can be applied by holding up on the lever while selecting shot height. There is no unique animation for this but the ball will bounce and roll further.
