The spirit of a sword made flesh.

She once dwelled in Mikoto's F.A., Maestro, until Mikoto's wish to not fight made her manifest into being. Maestra is notable much faster than mikoto, and she has the distinct ability to dash cancel or jump out of her Geschwind which enable a better offensive game. Air throw, mix up, and pressure all become better with

Overview

Maestra is a Midrange speed character, with her unique mobility tool Meastra able to enforce tricky mix up that's unique to her.

Mikoto "Clone" is only half the story. Maestra has more speed than Mikoto and she used this mobility to play a more aggressive game. Maestra Geschwind have the distinct ability to dash and jump cancel this special, granting her more reward for hits or mix up on block. For Example light gestwind can be followed up reliably instead of relying on 5M linkd. Medium Gestwind can feint the last hit into a jump or dash(style dependent), this works even on block. Air gestwind has the ability to both dash and hi-jump cancel, further more she can cancel on hit, block, or even on whiff. This tool alone lets Meastra play a different game. Another difference between Meastra to Mikoto or the whole cast is her meter build. Maestra builds about an additional 6% for every action taken, combined with her dash cancel ability which also generates a meter.

Maestra sports great buttons and specials to be well-rounded Like Mikoto, but her unique mobility tools lets her have a better air game as opposed to Mikoto who's ground focus. However Gestwind cancel is a double-edged sword since cancel that use back dash, double jumps and hi-jumps wear down her guard gauge. If that wasn't enough Meastra is also very floaty on hitstun making her one of the easiest characters to combo. She floaty enough to have Meastra exclusive combos, making her risk even further skewed.

Mikoto is like Ryu, and Meastra is like Ken, so if you prefer an aggressive focus all-rounder who specializes in high-risk-high reward gameplan, Meastra is a solid pick.

Playstyle
Meastra is classified as a Mid-Range Speed. Maestra can enforce an ongoing strike or throw mix up, and gets to ignore good portion of Phantom Breaker Defensive mind games.
Pros Cons
  • All rounder: Maestra is equipped for every scenario, a fire ball, a dp, and pressure tool.
  • Gestchwind: The core to Meastra gameplan, her offense and defense is center on the idea she never fully committed to actions. EX Geschwind is a neutral skip.
  • Meter conservative: Maestra for some reason generates a little extra meter, this on top of her ability to dash and jump cancel certain specials let her be extra conservative on meter usage.
  • Combo conversion: While other characters tend to need overdrive to combo off things like air throw, DP, and command overheads; Ex Air Geschwind is a less expensive alternative combo filler.
  • Average damage : Meastra's expanded combo ability only keeps her at around everyone else damage, even when she dumps meter.
  • Depleting guard gauge: Maestra's mobility requires her to use back dash and hi-jump more than most casts, thus she is always at risk of being guard crash.
  • Susceptible to anti-air: Maestra primarily wants to be in the air, thus those who can anti-air give her some trouble.
  • Combo fodder: Maestra suffers from longer hitstune, allowing easier juggle from many hits that would otherwise be impossible.

Style Overview

PBO QuickStyle Icon.png

Maestra and Quick style may have the best meter gain in general. But this version is pron to getting dizzy or guard crash, forcing her to prioritizing emergency mode over everything else.

PBO HardStyle Icon.png

Ground gestwind dash cancel enables better mix-up on her block strings without defaulting to Air getschwind. Protection does wonders in footsie and it being accessible in the air compliments her aireial game. With that said, the lack of a double jump or slip shift makes it harder to close when being zoned out.

PBO OmniaStyle Icon.png

EX Gestwind is one of the best specials in the game, and Omnia lets Maestra take full advanatge of that. Her Specials work well as a guard cancel option, particularly gestwind. This is a do-or-die Maestra since she lack overdrive and emergency mode to save herself from any mistakes.
