Default Controls

The game's default controls are WASD to move, and JKL for buttons.
J: Normal Attacks
K: Special Attacks
L: Parry, Throw

U, I, and O are used for colors 4, 5, and 6. They're also used for training mode.
Esc is used for Pausing and going back in Menus. Additionally, Esc + JKL can be used to exit a match (such as exiting Training Mode).

Changing & Binding Controls

You can edit your controls in Options -> Keyboard.
If you want to use a controller rather than a Keyboard, that can be done via Antimicro.
There is a "Joystick" controller setting in the Options, but do NOT use it. It is not stable.
For more info on controller setup, see the FAQ: Pokemon: Close Combat/FAQ

NOTE: If you're doing VS Local play with two players on two controllers, "Joystick" should work fine, and the controller support for most controllers and sticks is decent.
However, for 1P or for Netplay, the "Joystick" option can cause framerate/lag issues, which is why we suggest using antimicro.

Player 2

If you want to also bind player 2 to a controller, its default keybinds are:
TFGH to move (Up, Left, Down, Right respectively) and Numpad 1-3 for buttons
Numpad 1: Normal Attacks
Numpad 2: Special Attacks
Numpad 3: Parry, Throw

Numpad 4, 5, and 6 are also used for colors 4, 5, and 6 on the character select screen.
