Sasuke is one of Yukimura Sanada's most loyal samurai and companions. Originally, he lived in Aokigahara (a forest filled with the failed constructs of the Mibu) He had heightened senses and physical abilities but was feared by society and treated as an outcast. Yukimura embraced him while he was young. Since then he has become one of the most powerful shinobi among the Sanada Ten Braves. He may seem cold and ruthless, but he is extremely attached to Sanada and would sacrifice his life if it meant protecting him without hesitation.



In Samurai Deeper Kyo, Sasuke plays the annoying little rat archetype. (Temporary)

Edge Breaking

Edge Breaking is a technique/glitch that can be performed by Sasuke and Sasuke alone.

When performing either of 6H, 6S and 4S, making contact with the opponent on it's last active frame will cause Sasuke to instantly return to idle with no push back or recovery. These are usually done on the oppoenent's wakeup so the last active frame is meatied. This can get him combos/juggles/super confirms, unexpected tick grabs or increased pressure/mixups.

The utility and optimality of each varies.

Sasuke does two low kicks. The first one is Special and Hiougi Cancellable while the other sweeps. This can't really work as a frame trap between each kick like most attacks of this kind do, due to the amount of blockstun produced by the first.

Sasuke calls his dog to hold down the neutral for him

It does take quite a bit to start up but it is still a great setplay option. The dog will track whether the opponent is airborne or on the ground as long as it hasn't started moving.

On grounded opponents, the dog will run up to them and bite their leg three times. This is only on hit, if it gets blocked, the dog will just keep going in its original direction. This can be used as a combo starter.

On airborne opponents, the dog will rise into the air, spin in complete equilibrium and then dive diagonally to the floor before running off screen. He is active during his rising and diving frames. This is not a garunteed hit or anything. If the opponent hits the floor fast enough this can be blocked.

Unfortunately, during startup, Sasuke is completely vulnerable. If the dog is hit, it will whimper and spin off screen making it not really good against disjoints.

A great and fast anti-air.

Edge Broken Variation:There wouldn't be anything too special about it if it couldn't be edge-broken. This is probably Sasuke's best attack to edge break. it is easy to pull off as a meaty on an opponent's wakeup and can be comboed off of as well as used for pressure and tick grabs. Doing it on an airborne opponent is much harder but is pretty much the jackpot considering it means a juggle or even a super confirm!

Sasuke throws an electric shuriken at the opponent. Its pretty small can can be both ducked under and jumped over. This is a terrible move to use up close and is really only a filler projectile that you'd use once or twice in neutral.

Sasuke crouches for a second then teleports behind the opponent to deliver a strike to the back. This move is pretty weird.

When in the crouching position, Sasuke is invulnerable to any high hitting attacks. During the leaf teleport, he is full invincible and after that he's instantly in his active frame. This is a crossup tool that can be pretty hard to see coming if you don't notice the original crouch. It is punishable on block depending on if its edge-broken or not.

Edge Broken Variation: Edge breaking this move is usually done an accident as it is very positional/situational. It can only be done when you are near the wall and the opponent is a specific distance away from the corner. If hit, Sasuke can pretty much do whatever he wants. Convert into an infinite, super confirm, you name it! But you'll literally never actually edge break this purposely, it is too difficult.

Sasuke hops into the air before revealing his sword and stabbing the floor to create a net of lightning. This move is very easy to abuse due to the blistering blockstun of the lightning trap that happens afterwards as well as the scary and intimidating jumping hitbox of his first attack. You can combo off this or use it for pressure and nasty crossups!!! Depending on the height of the first attack's hit, it may or may not combo into the lightning net.

Edge Broken Variation: The first hit of this can also be edge-broken. It can only be performed as a meaty on an opponent's wakeup and doesn't really mean much more than a surprise second crossup or tick grab due to its short hitstun/blockstun value. When edge broken, the net of lightning doesn't appear, which can take the opponent off their feet for a little but its not really the best plan anyways.

It looks a lot like his 5L 2L but differs for a number of reasons.

It does a lot more damage, has slightly more startup, has a LOT more hitstun/blockstun and can be used for unescapable garunteed lows/overheads. Not to mention it hits mid. This is an insanely great move to spit out on block because its very hard not to respect what comes next due to its massive blockstun. Most of the time, you're getting a free combo off of it on interaction.

The classic jumping overhead but not used in the way most are. This move tends to go over crouching opponents soo, although its an overhead, you're really only going to use it do wallbounce loops rather than for mix purposes.
