Zhang Fei is the protagonist of The King of Fighters '99, replacing Kyo Kusanagi as -- wait, wrong game, sorry.

Inheriting basically his entire movelist from The King of Fighters' K', Zhang Fei is an exceptionally well-rounded character who can play comfortably at any distance. With a powerful projectile that sees use in both space control and pressure, strong mixup tools and great defensive options in both a catch counter and an invincible reversal, Zhang Fei is a great fit for anyone looking for a little bit of everything in their gameplan. That is, except for a Revenge Attack. Because his Revenge Attack is a highly telegraphed catch counter, he loses out not just on having a usable Revenge Attack, but also on the damage that usually comes with it. Coupled with relatively slow movement speed and stubby buttons, Zhang Fei can lose out in some midrange interactions, which isn't helped by his lacking of a key way to cash out damage.

Well Rounded: With a strong projectile and powerful defensive tools, Zhang Fei is highly adaptable to almost any neutral situation. Powerful Mixups: Stable low confirms and a lightning-quick overhead in 6B gives Zhang Fei very powerful mixup options that can be hard to stop.	Underwhelming Footsies: Zhang Fei's walk and run speeds are on the slower side compared to other members of the cast, and compared with a suite of normals that are either stubby in reach or slow on startup, he can struggle somewhat in the midrange or in footsie contests. Revenge Attack Doesn't Exist: With his Revenge Attack being a highly telegraphed catch counter that cannot be used in combos, Zhang Fei loses out on a big way to cash out damage that other characters take for granted.
