xSSBC_Agumon_Stock.pngAgumon (アグモン) is one of the many creatures that debuted in the Digimon Virtual Pet toys in 1997. The Digimon franchise is a multi platform entertainment medium not unlike Pokémon, with its own popular Anime, videogames, trading card games and the like. The V-Pet itself is important to gaming as a whole due to later spawning and popularizing tamagochi-like portable systems.
xSSBC_Agumon_Stock.pngAgumon is a small heavy weight with decent mobility and high damage on his decently fast frame data.
Pressing Down Special charges and let's him transform into His unique mechanic: "Digivolution". As Greymon, all of his attacks gain range and even more power at the cost of being a large target. He also gains armor against weak moves and a new Down Special useful for ledge trapping.
As for his flaws, Some of Agumon's attacks have stubby range, Side special is required to aid with his linear recovery and Greymon's size can be exploited in some match ups.
Tilts are slow with high damage. Side tilt can kill. Down tilt is his fastest option as a slide that helps low profile aerials.
Smash attacks are fast and have decent knockback, with side smash moving him forward while down smash is a disjoint. They have decent kill power for his size.
Aerials are decently fast. Down Air has him stall & Fall, Forward Air spikes, Neutral Air and Up Air are two-hits, Back Air is slow but kills
Throws are alright, with decent knockback but can't kill until later percents. Use them for stage positioning. Because of being multi-hits, Down throw and pummel can build up meter for Greymon.
Agumon fires a fireball from his mouth while yelling the move's name. Does very solid damage and knockback. Doing this from a jump grants him a slide back, perfect if you land with it.

Greymon's is much laggier from start to finish, but it sports a bigger size, knockback and damage overall, making it a much stronger projectile. Lacks the momentum that Agumon can gain from a shorthop for raw power, and it's more worth to space with this move.

Agumon breathes fire from his mouth while shouting the move's name. Solid multi hit attack, great knockback. Midair, this pushes him back. Doing it consistently allows him to move a great distance just by Side Bing the reverse way.

Greymon's version is much stronger and wider at the cost of more lag. While Agumon's sends him back midair, Greymon actually pushes him forward while in this state.

Agumon leaps and does a claw swipe as he yells the move's name. Not very high recovery, and a good KO option from the top in a game filled with high blast zones.

Greymon uses his horn to initiate a firey ram. While it goes higher, it lacks the momentum Agumon's Up Special has, therefore feels a bit worse despite this.

Agumon charges to Digivolve, shown through the console's screen on his HUD. Letting go while charging causes his head to go red and fuming before looking tired out. It adds lag to the move, which can be capitalised if used recklessly. When the meter is full, it will say EVOLUTION!, notifying he can evolve, which you'd usually want to do as soon as possible at the right time to evolve into Greymon for about 10 seconds.

Greymon meanwhile fires a pillar of fire from his mouth that can lock opponents in place. Solid for starting combos.

Digivolves into Wargreymon, slashes them three times, drills through them, teleports, then unleashes a giant fireball from his hands to explode the opponent. His console changes colour for a brief moment from blue to orange, and it grants him full meter for the Digivolution special once the move is over.

Trivia
As a Namco character, it's a coincidence that xSSBC_Agumon_Stock.PNGAgumon was revealed around the same time as Kazuya's announcement for Fighter Pass 10 in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
xSSBC_Agumon_Stock.PNGAgumon was designed, sprited and coded mostly by CloudStrifeHero, a developer whose worked on plenty of Digimon mods for the Modding Community
Agumon is one of the five characters to have multiple final smashes, the others being Ryu, Chun-li, Evil Ryu, and Goku. In Agumon's case, the difference is how quickly he evolves into WarGreymon, complete with unique transformation animations.
