Playstyle
Little Mac is a quick, ground-based fighter who specializes in closing in on his opponents to perform quick combos, armoring through opposing attacks, and finishing with strong Smash Attacks.
Pros
Cons
High damage: Little Mac's attacks hit HARD.
Combo Potential: Many of Mac's attacks are quick and give enough time to lead into other options, keeping your foes close enough for racking up damage.
Fast Movement: Mac's ground speed allows him to quickly close in on his opponents, and the momentum from his ground movement can carry into his air movement as well.
Armored Smash Attacks: Smash Attacks have a degree of armor to them, allowing Mac to push through attacks from opponents.
Short Range: Mac's attacks all cover little range, requiring players to get close to their opponent for any meaningful results.
Laggy Smashes: While many of his normals are fast, Mac's Smash Attacks are all notably sluggish, Side Smash being the largest offender.
Little Mac is one of the characters to be introduced in Crusade prior to their inclusion to the official Super Smash Bros. series. This is shared with Duck Hunt Dog, Megaman, Ridley, and Ryu.
Many of Little Mac's attacks in early releases of Crusade predicted his official moveset in Super Smash Bros. for Wiiu/3DS, including having a forward moving side special that ends with a punch, a counter down special, a rapid jab, and a Final Smash involving him doing a flurry as Giga Mac.
Little Mac's original portrait in earlier releases of Crusade is based on a frame from the original Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! on the NES, specifically after the player successfully completes a circuit, swapping the original design of Little Mac for his look in Punch Out!! on the Wii. Later versions of Crusade instead use a more original pose while still using the Wii design.
