Introduction
xSSBC_Sonic_Stock.png Sonic (Sonic the Hedgehog) is the titular main character of the series of games with the same name, originating in "Sonic the Hedgehog" for the SEGA Genesis (known as the SEGA Mega Drive in the PAL region) in 1991.
Seen as SEGA's "mascot", Sonic has appeared roughly 100 games, consisting of 2D platformers, 3D platformers, and many spin-offs, including racing games, party games, and sports games.
Sonic is known as the world's fastest hedgehog, capable of running at the speed of sound (768 miles per hour), and has made it his life's work to thwart the plans of Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik to rule his homeworld of Mobius, usually accompanied by his many friends and aquaintances, which include Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, Amy Rose, Shadow the Hedgehog, Blaze the Cat, and more.
