Overview

Beef is a yellow person that tosses a variety of items, most notably a Lemon. Beef is a very well-rounded character that has good tools for close-range brawling, mid-range poking, and long-range zoning. Versatility and a lack of weaknesses is where this character shines, and that makes Beef great for anyone picking up the game.


Strengths Weaknesses
  • Neutral: Beef has an easy time passively whittling you down with pokes and fireballs.
  • High Damage: Beef packs a punch off common starters into lemon loops. Combos have good damage, oki, and corner carry.
  • Defense: Flex is a great reversal for getting out of tight pressure situations.
  • Lemon RC: For just one bar, Lemon RC makes throwing lemons much less committal and gives Beef a projectile to follow behind, letting them force their way in.
  • Flexibility: Beef does not have one single significant flaw and can be strong in many positions.
  • Limited Mixups: Beef has a good foundation of mixups, but there’s nothing notable about Beef mix compared to other characters.
  • Limited Mixup Opportunities Without meter, Beef's midscreen combos give lackluster oki and leave them unable to push a mixup.

Beef moves forward into a shoulder tackle, followed by an uppercut that launches the opponent. Beef is put right next to the opponent. Useful for combo extensions and creating pressure.

Beef's Jump attack. The attack has two parts: the rising knee at the beginning and the falling kick. The rising knee is a fast anti air attack that leads to an automatic knockdown on hit. The falling kick occurs if the rising knee did not hit anything and functions similar to other jump attacks.

Beef chucks a Lemon at their opponent. The lemon moves forward with unlimited range until it leaves the screen, connects with the opponent, or connects with another projectile. While Beef's lemon is on the screen, Beef can't throw another lemon. Useful for baits, zoning, and combos.
