Rookie Questions
I want to read this Wiki properly, what are all the unique keywords?
- f means frame, which is the smallest unit in time in a fighting game.
- + means that you recover faster than the opponent, - means you recover slower than the opponent. The more + or - signs there are, the better or worse the situation is.
- +f means you recover faster than your opponent by the unit of "f". For example, +1 means you recover one frame faster than the opponent.
- +f(+fQS) means that you are plus by how many units of "f" on an immediate quickstand. For example, +20(+38) means recover 20 frames before the opponent while they are mid air, and you are plus 38 if you let them fall and immediately quickstand.
What do 5L,2L,jM,6H etc, mean?
There are 4 attack buttons in Vita Fighters: Light,Heavy,Special,. They are notated using L, M, S, EX. the numbers to the left of the attack notate in what position these attacks are pressed. The only attacks that you can't press directly are medium attacks, these can be done by pressing Light twice on hit or block. They can also be done in neutral by whiffing a light then performing a WJF to get the medium.
Advanced Questions
What is WJF and WJC exactly?
- WJF and WJC are anagrams for Whiff Just Frame and Whiff Jump Cancel respectively.
- WJF is a technique in which you press the light button during the last frames of a whiffed light in order to trigger a medium attack.
- WJC is an unrelated technique where you hold up during and after the later frames of a jump cancellable move in order to get a jump cancel. Jump cancels usually have different arcs than normal jumps so their usefulness depends on the character. Everyone can WJC by holding up during and after a 2H.
