Overview

The Good Hunter utilizes his respectable range combined with deceptively good rushdown to cut down his opponent. A number of his moves have "visceral" counterparts, which activate new properties or special cancels if spaced correctly.

Normals

5L

A very slow jab, but it's also very disjointed and moves him forward, making it excellent for close range checks and combos. If you land the visceral at the very tip of the move and then cancel into 5H immediately you can cancel into 6S instead of 3S.

5M

Would be alright as a WJF but 5L is just too slow, don't fret though as you have much better mid range options. This move in reality has no use even in combos due to how slow it is, at best it is an alright frame trap tool from 5L like every other 5M in the game.

5H

- - - - - - - - -

This move is really good, slow but with long range and has very little recovery, on top of that the hitbox stays out even when he's visually withdrawing his cleaver. The recovery is moves him forward while recovering in a smooth manner which makes cycling between 5H 4S/5S(frametrap) or a looping 5H2L5H(fake pressure) really ambiguous for the opponent to abare against. This move cancels into 3S but it can also cancel into 6S if you land the visceral at the tip of the attack.

6H

A slow but fullscreen move, useful to check people or to preempt against fireballs. On block you can immediately cancel it into 4S to deter full hops and even instant air dashes. Not a very rewarding move but its a fun one for sure.

2L

- - - - - - - - -

One of the best ranged jabs in the game, your main pressure, combo(2L5H x10) and abare tool. It also perfectly sets up for your Visceral throw on hit, if they block the 2L then microwalking back before throwing will grant you the visceral.

2M

Serves as filler for combos and frametraps.

2H

- - - - - - - - -

A very slow and deceptively short ranged move, usually grants a ton of damage if you have meter.

j.L

- - - - - - - - -

A slow but neat double overhead setup tool(j.LS). It can also be a crossup tool in the left corner after an airdash.

j.M

Combo filler at the time of writing.

j.H

Remember prepatch Shinta j.H? Now imagine that but its not a bug, its the actual animation. This moves hitbox is absurd and even characters with DPs struggle to anti air it.

Specials

5S

Quick and safe neutral button. As usual it has a deceptively big hitbox, you can cancel it from a backdash for some anti air utility.

6S
Damage Startup Active Recovery Hitstun On Block Guard Dash Cancel? Invuln
- - - - - - - - -

Has invincibility but due to its lack of speed its mainly visceral combo filler. On hit this move has an insane amount of reward, even meterlessly. The move cancels into 5L naturally but if you delay the L(by a lot) then you can cancel into 2L.

4S
