Story
Once a construction worker, Eric Masterson gained amazing powers after being merged with Thor by Odin. While originally wielding Mjolnir and acting in Thor's place, when the Thunder God returned, Odin forged Eric a new mace from the mystical metal Uru. Taking the name of the mace as his new mantle, Thunderstrike, he would continue to fight alongside the Avengers, much as he did as Thor during the events of Operation: Galactic Storm.
Gameplay
One of the four normally playable Avengers characters in Avengers in Galactic Storm, while Thunderstrike might appear as a grappler at first glance, even having a useful command grab in Thunder Power Bomb, most of his kit is primarily aimed towards zoning. With an already decent fireball in Strike Shot, further backed up by Thunderbolt, Thunderwave, and a zoning-friendly assist, Thunderstrike can very handily lockdown an opponent while giving them a difficult time even attempting to approach him on their own terms.
Strengths |
Weaknesses
|
- Powerful zoning and lockdown game, with a homing projectile and ground projectile that can't be reflected in addition to a normal fireball.
- Unescapable grab loop in the corner when timed correctly that can actually lead to a ToD off of blocked assist call.
- Even without that, has access to large burst damage thanks to setups into j.41236B (Thunder Power Bomb).
|
- Rather slow, and with no real meterless reversal, this can bode poorly for him against many of the faster, more erratic members of the cast (Black Knight, Cap, Korath) if he makes a mistake.
- Not as large as Supremor, but still fairly big, which doesn't help his already so-so defense.
- Discount Thor
