Story

A nimble fighter that uses the terrain to get the upper hand.

Gameplay

Genma is a defensive character that utilizes his stone pillar.

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Insane Movement With Pillar: If a pillar is up, Genma can easily control screen space.
  • Strong DP: Very fast, very large DP that can be made safe with pillar.
  • Damage: High damage output with use of Unsealed Stance.
  • Pillar Reliance: Without a stone pillar, Genma's options become much more limited.
  • Linear Pressure: With few strong high/low mixups, Genma's pressure is not very complex.

Passive Trait: Stone Pillar

Genma’s Stone Pillar acts as a temporary obstacle that Genma’s opponent must jump over to pass, and also counts as a wall for wallbounce combos. It also gives him access to new attack and movement options.

Genma’s Stone Pillar can be interacted with 3 times before shattering into Rock Splinters. This includes being hit by an enemy, or used for Genma’s unique 236x moves. 236c will destroy the pillar immediately, but will not leave Rock Splinters.

Rock Splinters can be used as ammunition for Genma’s 236A. Rock Splinters will spawn after a Stone Pillar shatters by running out of HP.

Active Trait: Stance Switch

Genma can switch to Unsealed Stance by pressing 5S, and vice versa. Unsealed Stance features high damage moves, but loses the ability to combo after a hit of any Unsealed Stance move.

Genma’s Unsealed Stance loses all forms of special mobility, only able to walk, jump, and dash. Genma can not block during Unsealed Stance, but can still activate Will Shield.
