Combo Babies is a 2D indie fighting game released on September 9th, 2021, developed by Nucko Games. The game features 8 unique playable characters and uses a blend of extremely fast movement and long combos and strings to make a unique anime fighter thats just as much in the vein of a platform fighter.
The game runs on a dynamic physics engine, and as such, many moves can have previous momentum installed to wildly change the angles or speeds you they attack at. The combo system works with the momentum, by having characters groundbounce and wallbounce during combos. Alongside this, characters have access to mobility tools from both anime fighters (Guilty Gear, Melty Blood, etc) like airdashes, and movement known more from platform fighters (Super Smash Bros: Melee, Rivals of Aether, etc) like dash dancing and wavedashes. This, along with high movement speed, makes the matches very hectic. If that sounds a little overwhelming, know every character has entirely universal movelists, so while getting used to the speed is hard, learning each character is quite fast and accessible.
