The Japanese VF3tb scene is alive and thriving; with many arcades across Japan hosting regular scheduled tournaments for the game. In 2014, Game Center A-Cho revived the game by putting out a cabinet and hosting weekly tournaments for the game. It was a big success, and it was only a matter of time until other arcades followed.

Mikado Takadanobaba followed shortly after, holding the first ever VF3tb World Cup in 2014. 4 subsequent World Cup's have been held in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2023.

Multiple smaller retro arcades have since put out VF3tb setups, and an organization committee was formed. Since then we have seen the game feature at EVO JAPAN 2023 and 2024 as a side game as well.
