Full name Giichi Nishioka

Play-style Grappler

Introduction

Giichi is the quintessential grappler of Jingi Storm, having the largest list of command throws in the game, some better than others. Throws being pretty hard to break makes Giichi one of the best characters in the game, having throws for every situation, whether the opponent is standing or ducking.

However, Giichi also has the smallest list of regular attacks out of any character. This isn't necessarily a bad thing though, because Giichi has access to an array of strong long-range attacks, damaging launchers, guard breaks, air attacks, and strings. He has a small but great list of moves/strings capable of keeping opponents juggled for a long time during combos.

Unfortunately Giichi doesn't have the fastest moves in the world, and it can be a struggle to deal with unrelenting offense. Because of this, you will need great defense, and the ability to properly place reversals during your opponents offense to come out on top.

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Huge damage: When Giichi launches you, you're in for a world of hurt. His list of juggle effective moves are small, but effective at doing damage and keeping the opponent in the air. PK, 3K, and 3P are the primary moves used in his juggles.

  • Great throws: Giichi has access to the widest array of throws out of the entire cast, many being very useful. HCB P+G sets up for a juggle on all characters, 66 P+G, 9 P+G, and 1P P+G followup all grab standing and crouching opponents, and 623124 P+G ends the round if you catch your opponent crouching.

  • High weight and health: Giichi is difficult to juggle, as he is 2nd heaviest in the game, under Paolo. He also has the most health points, tied with Paolo.

  • Good jump-ins: Airborne 3P is a green guard break that gives a guaranteed 623124 attempt on hit, and airborne P+K is a yellow guard break with a generous hitbox which guarantees 3p on guard break and hit.
  • Limited moveset: Giichi's moveset is the smallest in the game, and as such he can be very predictable. He has very few strings, with most of their enders being easy to reverse.

  • No super or projectile: Giichi is the only character in the game to not have a super or projectile. Kind of weired since Del-Sol in Force Five, the character Giichi's movelist has been ripped from, has both.

  • Easy to lock down: Giichi does not have any exceptionally fast moves to get himself out of pressure, his only option being a well placed reversal or sidestep.
