Jstalandy.png Landy Ichihara is a well-rounded zoner whose special high atemi gives him a unique defensive edge.
Strengths Weaknesses
  • Catch Hold: 4P+K is an incredible defensive option that can define entire matchups. Proper use of this move can make Landy very difficult to attack.

  • Evasive Maneuvers: Many of Landy's attacks, including his launchers, are highly evasive and can slip past opposing attacks with ease.

  • Artillery Fire: Landy has a potent zoning game, possessing a fireball, a stationary orbital laser, and a solid super.

  • Redundant Code: Many of Landy's fundamental tools are worse versions of Gamon's. His unique attacks are generally quite good, but at basic levels of play he tends to underperform.

  • Lightweight Alloy: Though his health is solid, Landy is one of the lightest characters in the game, making him easy combo fodder. Missing an air atemi during a launch will more often than not result in immediate death.

  • Low-Impact: Landy tends to deal some of the lowest damage in the game, especially when it comes to his pokes. Anything less than a combo starting with 623P will likely not be doing much to your opponent.

Yellow guard break. Landy's DP, an excellent launcher with strong evasive properties. Gives a high launch, allowing for basically anything you want afterwards. No followups appear to be possible on guard break.

Landy continues spinning and hits the opponent two more times while rising. Essentially just bonus damage on top of the regular DP, can be followed up with 66K on most of the cast.

Landy slides headfirst at the opponent's legs for a gimmicky low ender. Leaves Landy in a face down knockdown state afterwards. Use this when you run out of ideas on how to open up your opponent.

A short hop with a spinning chop attached. Hits mid, and quicker than you might think, not terrible for picking up juggles in weird scenarios. Despite the animation, this does not appear to dodge lows.

Yellow guard break. A bizarre rolling attack which sees Landy jump high up into the air, curl into a ball, and crash down on the opponent. Deals good damage, and leaves Landy in a face up knockdown state.

Landy extends his arm, producing an electric spark. The attack is not actually the lightning bolts, but rather the white spheres that travel forwards. This is a pretty unremarkable projectile, but it's always good to have one.
