Jingi Storm: The Arcade is a 3D fighting game developed for the SEGA Naomi arcade system by Atravia Japan. Originally an unreleased 2004 Atomiswave 3D fighting game named Force Five, developed by Anchor Inc (Developers of Fighter's Destiny and Toy Fighter). Development for this title was halted late into development, with the majority of the game being complete. Years later, Atravia Inc would purchase the incomplete project, reskin the entirety of the game's cast into original characters, and implement eroge elements into the game. During location tests, Jingi Storm had a feature where the player could see increasingly erotic illustrations of the losing character's companion depending on the winner's score, which would be affected by time remaining, health, and consecutive wins. Fortunately, this feature was promptly censored by the Japan Amusement Machine and Marketing Association, and the game changed to an all-age rating, resulting in the final 2006 release of Jingi Storm.
Jingi Storm: The Arcade is a 3 button game in the same vein as Virtua Fighter, with a punch, kick, guard button layout. It plays similarly to 3d fighters of its day, with sidesteps, backdashes, etc, but has features which drastically distinguish it from other games. A plethora of mechanics, like reversals, guard breaks, different guards with varying blockstun, and 2D fighter-esque projectiles/supers makes Jingi Storm a very unique 3D fighter, being easy to pick up and play, but offering a lot of depth under its hood.
