Lore

Toxic is the infamous graffiti queen of Shine City and ruler of its underworld. She sports a huge mechanical arm, loaded with spray cans, which she uses to compete and paint wherever she pleases. Toxic has a network of graffiti writers spread out over the city that give her the lowdown on all the happenings in the streets.

Gameplay

While Toxic is considered to have a below average angle spread and some of the weakest movement stats in the game, she is bolstered by a powerful and versatile tool in her spray, providing her with mix-up options for a wide variety of situations.

Spray activation consumes 4 bars of meter and can be used during hitstop or while clinging to the wall. The regular activation shoots the spray in a straight line in the direction of the currently held angle. This is limited by the type of attack being used, for example if using smash the spray will always come out at the smash angle, whereas using spike will give a choice between the three spike angles.

Spray can also be emitted by pressing swing while in a wall cling, being placed at the location of the cling. This can be a good defensive option and is also used to double spray.

When the spray is on the ground, it's hitbox is large enough to cover Toxic while she is crouching in it. However, when the spray is on the wall, her hitbox is too tall to be completely covered.

Activating special or taunting will remove any existing spray on the screen.

Playstyle
Toxic is Lethal League Blaze's dedicated trap character. While Toxic lacks strength in raw angles and movement, she makes it up with versatile and unique special that allows her to set up pressure and create tricky knowledge checks.
Strengths Weaknesses
  • Spray threatens timing mix-ups every time toxic has meter
  • Wall cling enables wall tech
  • Some of the most creative parrybait options in the game
  • No real threat without special
  • Below average movement stats
  • Wonky hitboxes means she's the only character that can't bunt at the wall

Angles

Up

Up Description
LLB-Ball.png

Standard pizza angle. Can slip over heads up close and forces tap charges against the wall.
Angle 57°

Ground Down

Ground Down Description
LLB-Ball.png

Similar to Raptor's ground down angle, Toxic can use this to wrap the ball around the stage and create complex parrybaits. Sprays used at this angle will not be triggered by up angle, making it a convenient timing mix up.
Angle -25°

Air Down

Air Down Description
LLB-Ball.png

Fairly standard angle, as seen on many other characters.
Angle -35°

Smash

Smash Description
LLB-Ball.png

Toxic's smash angle is about as vanilla as they come, although worth noting that it is marginally different to the down angle, meaning you'll need to consider the better option for the situation. As expected, Toxic is less keen on using smash angle for sprays, as she is unable to mix up the release angle unlike with a regular swing or spike.
Angle -41°

Forward Spike

Forward Spike Description
LLB-Ball.png

Forward spike is fairly niche for Toxic and generally has a fairly poor rotation on stages. While it's not the most effective as an offensive threat it still functions as a creative spray angle and ball control tool.
Angle -21°

Back Spike

Back Spike Description
LLB-Ball.png

Back spike is the stronger of the two spike angles, mostly used for ball control and as a tricky timing mix up. Unfortunately, just being stronger than forward spike doesn't make it actually good though.
Angle -106°
