UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH's engine encrypts it's assets into seemingly random files found in the d folder (referred to as D files from here on out). While the D files are used to extract the assets from the game, in certain cases the same D files will force a hardcoded load (meaning your modifications may not work). Notable examples of hardcoded assets include

  • Character Select Graphics
  • Dialogue Text
  • Character Names

These hardcoded assets can be removed by simply editing the D file that loads the asset.
