From her castle on the moon, the evil intergalatic sorceress, Rita Repulsa, plots to control the universe. Her first target is planet Earth. Using her league of horrors, she is out to destroy everything in sight.

Standing in her way is a brave team of warriors. Chosen by Zordon™, a helpful alien being, teenagers Jason, Zack, Kimberly, Trini and Billy use Power Suits and weapons that give them special powers and make them the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers™! When Rita's monsters become a really BIG problem, the Power Rangers' special vehicles -- the Dinozords™-- combine to create the powerful Megazord™... Then the battle gets really intense!

Introduction

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers is a Sega Genesis / Megadrive original and exclusive 1-on-1 fighting game, developed and released in 1994 by Nova Co. Ltd., and published by Banpresto.

The game, at first glance, seems to be a very rudimentary Tokusatsu-licensed Street Fighter 2 clone on a Sega console, and it arguably is that - however, it is set apart by infinitely scrolling stages, unique movesets and movement, and literal dozens of complete oddities in mechanics and interactions which can only be described as "miracles of accidental balancing", and have grown to compliment the game's experience instead of tarnish it.

Thanks to ROM-hacking efforts of BillyTime! Games, the game's character match-up limitations in the VS. Mode were (largely) removed, allowing the game to prosper fully, and develop a proper meta.

This wiki will try to cover as much ground as possible about the game, from basic move-set coverage to advanced strategies to the deepest esoterics (which there is no shortage of).

  • Polish up Systems & Esoterics if not re-do/re-format entirely
    • Latter more appealing but might take awhile
  • Create remaining General pages in Navbox (Community (if needed? scrap from Navbox template if not))
  • Create remaining character pages
    • Prioritize filling out all existing character pages before making new ones; it's fine to make ones for characters you play
