Strengths Weaknesses
  • Strong mid-range buttons.
  • Fast DP that covers a lot of space above him.
  • Very strong followups to his 5X, which lead into pressure or combos
  • Very high damage and strong pressure when using Deadly Engine
  • Lacks a fast grounded overhead.
  • Many of his moves have a fair bit of recovery, namely 5X, 2X, and 5A, making him prone to being whiff punished.

Fast, but very short-ranged jab that slightly advances Luffy forward. Amazing for stagger pressure and for mashing as its high frame advantage allows Luffy to link 5Ys on block with a 3f gap so it naturally Frame Traps and cannot be beat unless an invulnerable move is used. It's also good combo filler as it leads into 5YYYYY Midscreen for a j.Y link or 5YYYY in the corner for a 2Y link.
