Martial Champion is the fourth fighting game developed by Konami. It was released in Febuary 1993 for arcades worldwide, and later in December got a PC Engine port only for Japan. The game breaks the usual 2D fighting game mold with several unique mechanics. It is notable for it's large sprites, and being one of the first weapon-based fighting games to include disarming, predating Samurai Shodown's release by a few months.
