Martial Champion is the fourth fighting game developed by Konami. It was released in Febuary 1993 for arcades worldwide, and later in December got a PC Engine port only for Japan. The game breaks the usual 2D fighting game mold with several unique mechanics. It is notable for being one of the first weapon-based fighting games to include disarming, predating Samurai Shodown's release by a few months.
