Introduction
Hasshi is a mysterious individual that likes to show off to other people. Not much is known about him other than that he's weird, arrogant, has "Curly hair", want's people to follow him and has met Uchuzine during a battle.
Normal Hasshi is a interesting archetype, fusing some classic Dhalsim long range normals with charge special moves, a ok DP and good punishes if you're ready to charge for them.
Defenetely the second or most technical character in the game, requiring to charge before starting combos or with specific moves such as his 6P, that give enough time to charge a special move.
His corner combos are the most complex and require specific timing and MCs, with many character specific setups and routes, that all can lead to a TOS, that even if very complicated, hard and difficult leads to Hasshi best combo, dealing 91 dmg
Strengths |
Weaknesses
|
- Long range: all Hasshi comand normals extend very far, giving him a lot of good options to poke , wall the opponent out or stop approaches, and if ready with charge can punish form some good hits
- Great Oki: after a knockdown, Hasshi can do a meaty with his higly active 6K to put the opponent in a guessing game if it's going to hit or throw, leading into another oki situation or a big punish if a reversal attempt goes wrong
- Good (but difficult) combo conversions: from mid range or anywhere that Hasshi can hit or combo his 6P he can charge in time [4]6P or [8]2P to get around 38/39 damage, or extend the combo into a Mc [2]8P, giving Hasshi a high damage potential off his best move. This gives Hasshi the ability to use his orbs to extend every combo he lands, even if all require higher execution and knowledge than any other character
- Low weight: thanks to how floaty Hasshi is, he will fall out of many combos and characters who rely on standing combos will need to do diffrent (usually worse) routes so even if he hasn't high HP he will survive longer than other characters, giving him an advantage in many matchups
|
- Technically demanding: being a combo focused charge character with many specific combo routes, he will have to change route on the fly or charge moves based on the situation, demanding a lot more work than any other character in the game
- No combos without charge as expeted, without prior charge, or an early mid 6P, Hasshi has no ways to finish his combos, leading him in a bad spot if he misses a charge special, or even worse during a corner combo he can be counter hit while he's still in the air
- Dhalsim Syndrome: Hasshi long range moves expand his hurtbox more than the move hitbox, so it's easy to wiff-punish or catch his buttons if not carefull, and evenhis DP will tend to trade
