Introduction

Maou (translated literally to "Satan") is the king of all the demons and he's the ruler of hell. His objective is to conquer earth, but his arch-nemesis,Utsuuji-Man, always stands in his way and defeats him.

Normal Maou is the main grapler of the game, bringing to the table classic archetype to UMF: 50/50 command throw mixups, very slow, limited combos, Kara-Command grab and high-damage.

  • BIG NOTE HERE* as of 1.2.0, thanks to LMC unblockable combo reset, Maou can TOD nearly every single character in the game off one command grab, this is expected to be removed or nerfed to not combo reset in newer versions


Strengths Weaknesses
  • frame 2 command grab: N-Maou being the main grapler of the game he clearly has the best command grab out of all the standard characters. The range isn't awesome but it can be kara canceld from 6K, giving it much more range. It can also be comboed out of with 28K or LMC 624P into is grounded combo, putting the opponent 1 hit away from stun (and death)
  • Air-to-Air monster: N-Maou J5P is extremely disjointed, fast and knockdowns, making it an amazing move to shut down any jump happy oppoents, crucial in matchups where the opponent will always be in the air (C-utsuujiman), and can easily combo after with OTG + LMC. And his 5K starts high, easily shutting down opponents that jump on wake up.
  • Amazing punishes: If the opponent will ever be -2 or more in front of N-Maou, or he just blocks and Guard Cancel, they can say goodbye to their turn and eat a full Maou buster with added oki. This makes aproaching Maou extremely risky, because one mistake can lead to your death.
  • High HP: at 125 HP, N-Maou is one of the sturdies character in the game, giving him a lot more room to do mistakes and survive compared to other characters
  • Command-cancel: N-Maou can achive a guardanteed Maou-Buster if MC nearly every move, as it can grab airbone opponents when MC, or can bait a punish by using an unsafe move (such as 2K) and cancel it to Maou-Buster on the opponent punish attempt, as it's mere 2 frame startup will beat many punish attempts.
  • Combo ender? nice joke: One glaring issue of Maou is that otuside of the range that 6P fully connects, he has NO way to end his combos, leaving him without any good routes outside of close range.
  • He's...Ssssllllooooowwwww...: N-Maou has the second worst walk speed, just having the joke character behind him (C-Kusemono). This is pretty bad for his grab game compared to other faster characters like C-Jkamen, leaving N-Maou with only jumping and his Hell-Stamp and Kara-Comandgrab to start his offensive, making his approaches predictable.
