Introduction

Although he belonged to the Special Forces, he loves fighting, not killing. Hating every day spent waging war, he turned to the world of sports. He should have quit, because he hated the army, but he wound up with a military fighting style.

Where Tomahawk is the game's grappler, Bob is the game's general powerhouse. While he has several instrumental Throws, he specializes in long-range attacks dealing heavy-duty damage. He has the most painful single-strike move in the game, multiple Knockdown attacks (including Buster Sword, the only Mid Knockdown attack in the game), and simple-yet-effective High/Low mixups that are easy to enforce thanks to the lethal synergy of his Coconut Crash and Palo Special. The throw loop this initiates gives him a particularly dangerous edge in up-close scrambles, where he can pull out a 0-frame Throw and begin piling on damage; on the Player 1 port this throw loop is 100% inescapable!

He'll need this loop, because his aptitude for combos is as sorry as it gets. A great deal of Bob's attacks have long recovery, necessitating good spacing for any semblance of safety, and his plus-on-block Buster Sword is easily beaten by parries and Counters (and even if it works, he still gets no combo from the Reel). Without a parry or Counter to his name, he's also helpless against several otherwise-predictable options and must patiently await a chance to land a low-range Throw. A conservative mindset is an asset for Bob players, content to hang back and use a small stable of moves to vigorously lop off hunks of the enemy's lifebar.
