Overview

Vanilla

Toni has the second highest physical stat total in the game, the only matchup where Toni does not effectively start at a health advantage is vs Flick Instinct Toni. Her Items are not as strong but if she keeps an even pace she should come out on top but has to be wary of opponents using strong Items to take the lead.

Flick Instinct

Toni's Flick Instinct Magnifies both her strengths and weaknesses. With even stronger physical stats and slightly worse special while additionally rigging the RNG against her. If she has good luck and gets decent hands anyway Flick Instinct Toni is probably the strongest character in the game, but most of the time she'll be more open to getting Itemed out and might even have to hit herself just to get rid of a bad hand.

Strategy

Toni usually wants to prioritize speed and damage over particularly effective Item use. Obviously good items always help, but it's not necessary to see them to win. Because her opponent is going to need strong items it can also be useful to keep a closer eye on what they have rather than what you have and try and switch the active color to something bad for them, preventing them from easily accessing their items. When in flick instict it's especially important to plan ahead and try to retain emblems that either help you or hurt you the least since you'll rarely have multiple good options.

Below is a chart for which characters deal more damage in all of Skye's matchups. Note that this chart ignores items and special stats completely, it is not a true matchup chart but a reference for which characters effectively start with a lead in which matchups.
