Johnson, instead of having a regular burst, has access to a mechanic from the game he came from, being the Trigger Meter.
This "meter" is made out of 6 bullet icons, and by holding the burst button after landing an attack or before (if that move lands), you will do a Trigger Cancel, slowing down time and cancelling the moves endlag.
You only have 6 bullets, and if you run out of them, YOU CAN'T use them until the next round. Winning a round restores 1 bullet, and losing restores 2.
Impact Run
- Certain moves, such as 5S are able to be cancelled into a Impact Run from an Trigger Cancel.
Doing this cancels the move into an instant run that can be used for combo extensions, and is done by holding 6 during the Trigger Cancel.

- LLL - Bowler Poke: Simple normal chain.
- 4H - Sombrero Roundabout: A low with a slight approach to it and a follow-up by pressing H again.
- 4H->H - Sombrero Carousel: Sends the opponent at a slightly upwards angle.
- 66M - Boss of the Plains: An armored charge.
- 663H - Top Hat: An anti-air that is great for juggling.

- 5S - Hat Trick Cannonball: A simple strong kick with a bit of an approach to it.
- 4S - Coonskin Cap: An overhead approach that floor bounces air opponents.
- 2S - Spiral Turban Special: A low approach that can chain into 4H->H with S, 4H with 2S, or 4S.
- j.S - Aerial Spiral Turban: Johnson's aerial approach move. Good to have since he lacks an airdash.

- 5SP - Hat of Doom: A low advancing super that does good damage.
- 2SP - BLOODY MOONFISH: Throws Shaz as a big arcing projectile.
- Other Moves
- 214S (Near Hat) - True Hat of Doom: Johnson picks up his hat and uses a powerful advancing kick in exchange for 1 bullet.
