Dong Dong Never Die is a fan-made fighting game inspired by Street Fighter II and King of Fighters that released in 2009, with a roster of 24 characters. It has two modes, comprised of a story mode with an intriguing story, roughly following the plotline of Terminator 2, and a local Versus mode.

Despite the presentation of the game, its gameplay is deceptively tight and sound (for the most part). Every character and mechanic is a reference to something else, which, alongside its simpler execution, makes it a fantastic game to pick up and play. The sheer amount of insanity that can be unleashed in DDND is what gives it its comedic edge and its reputation, because every character has the potential to infinite you, or do a touch of death combo with just 5 moves.

Versions

You can download some versions of the games here, with the Violent Dong Dong bug patched for 1.6 and beyond. Demo 2 still remains unpatched, as it requires a more difficult process (You can download it on the Discord, though). I apologize for the convenience.

V1.0: The original release from August 8th, 2009.

V1.6: The first update to the game from August 5th, 2011. Contains additional moves for some characters, and accidentally allowed an non-playable character to be selected.

V1.65: The first update from the Chinese community to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the game, authored by Baidu user hlwz. It reforms some of the characters, and aims to make the game more balanced overall.

V1.651: The latest patch from hlwz. This is the version that the community uses for finding new tech and testing purposes.

Demo 1: A novel pre-release version by the developers made in 2007. It only features two playable characters (Dong Dong and Terminator), and is notable for having chainable air normals from light to heavy.

Demo 2: Another pre-release version that is closer to the final v1.0 game. Meter in this version is gained by collecting items that opponents drop when hit.
