'*All info on this page is a result of player opinions and should not be taken as fact. We encourage healthy discussion of matchups and will be updating this page as the game develops.

'*This goes doubly so for Korath due to the incredibly volatile nature of the character and his gameplan sometimes resulting in immediate snowballing into a quick round won for him, making it harder to properly judge a matchup.

Captain America CS.png
Captain America
(Even)
[character page]
Hard to call, while Cap doesn't appreciate having to deal with Korath's up-close shenanigans, or the damage the pseudo-rekka does, Korath doesn't appreciate the huge damage Cap can pull off from 236K (Shield Tackle) loops either. Korath being one of the few character to actually be able to properly challenge Cap doing a 236K with his own charging move, Berzerker Attack, is definitely a plus, even more-so considering it's Air OK, but this can still be a matchup that requires thoughtful play for Korath to prove triumphant.
Black Knight CS.png
Black Knight
(Slight Disadvantage)
[character page]
Korath generally doesn't appreciate Black Knight's combination of oppressive short-hop pressure and small hurtboxes, the final hit of the pseudo-rekka will even frequently whiff on a crouching Black Knight despite being an overhead. Far from unwinnable, but likely among Korath's more difficult matchups across the cast.
Thunderstrike CS.png
Thunderstrike
(Slight Advantage)
[character page]
While Thunderstrike isn't completely defenseless (Thunder Power Bomb in particular can be a menace against a character who is frequently as airborne as Korath is), his large body and generally zoning-based kit can prove a detriment to him if Korath can get in. Korath can (and likely will) quickly compost him with the pseudo-rekka once he's in, especially if Thunderstrike is in the corner.
Crystal CS.png
Crystal
(Slight Disadvantage)
[character page]
While Crystal doesn't appreciate having Korath in her face like many other characters, her zoning kit, especially if backed by an assist that enhances it like Giant Man or Iron Man, can give Korath some difficulty getting in, despite his otherwise excellent mobility tools. Even once he's in, much like Black Knight and Dr. Minerva, Crystal's short stature can make actually connecting the pseudo-rekka rather difficult unless Korath gets very close. Patient play on Korath's part is frequently needed to make progress without heading directly into a potentially disastrous blunder.
Dr. Minerva CS.png
Dr. Minerva
(Even)
[character page]
On paper this isn't too different from an outright mirror match (Both characters' ideal game-plan is to get in up-close and maim), but them still being very different characters in how they accomplish their game-plan still dictates how the matchup goes. Namely, Minerva will typically set the pace, being more agile, and Korath's big damage will typically come from his usual source (the pseudo-rekka) when he manages to punish any mistakes made or gaps left. The 236P (Flying Attack) into 63214B (Tombstone Pile Driver) frame trap is real, and can only really be disrespected via Korath's Ultimate Attack, but being able to make the correct read and then punish Minerva by either waiting to block 63214B and then pseudo-rekka'ing her, or immediately acting after a blocked 236P if she chooses not to go into the followup, can prove a vital part of the matchup for Korath.

It is also worth noting that Minerva's relatively small size can give Korath some difficulties in initiating the pseudo-rekka if he isn't at near or at point-blank range.

Shatterax CS.png
Shatterax
(Slight Advantage)
[character page]
Similar to the matchup against Supremor, Shatterax does not appreciate how many problems smart use of 236P (Berzerker Attack) can solve for Korath. While Korath definitely doesn't want to eat a Space Pack, being able to also Berzerker Attack midair also takes away Shatterax's ability to usually safely hover, forcing the Shatterax player to more carefully consider when they should use it, lest they be left a sitting duck for Korath to brute force his way in.

Shatterax is still better at warding off Korath up-close than Supremor, thanks to 623P (Death Charge) among other tools, but is still left more helpless than preferable, fortunately for Korath.

Korath CS.png
Korath
(Mirror)
[character page]
Incredibly volatile, rounds will typically boil down to who can pseudo-rekka the other into the dirt first.
Supremor CS.png
Supremor
(Advantage)
[character page]
While Supremor is not completely defenseless against Korath, Korath can very easily make him look downright unplayable to an unknowing observer if Supremor makes any mistakes. While having a variety of tools to keep Korath out, most of these can be punished by 236P (Berzerker Attack) from outside of the current attack's range.

Up-close, the matchup becomes even less favorable for Supremor, especially no thanks to his Ultimate Attack having a dead zone up close to Supremor, right where Korath wants to be anyway.

Galen Kor CS.png
Galen Kor
(Disadvantage)
[character page]
While Korath has better odds at getting in on Galen thanks to 236P (Berzerker Attack), they're still not particularly great. Well executed grenades will still lockdown Korath pretty effectively like anyone else on the cast, and being kept out also means Korath isn't building meter while Galen is rapidly building up bar for himself, further hampering Korath's ability to fight back.

Making this even worse is that the typical optimal assist to pick against the usual Galen-Ultimus setup is Ultimus, an assist that already doesn't flow with Korath's typical gameplan, as his focus on getting in already makes him very likely to push his own Ultimus off-screen and deactivate him.
