Overview

As the final addition to Jump Jousts Jam's roster, Gumball is a very unique fighter, sporting one of the most free-form combo games in the game. To compensate for this however, his neutral game is severely lacking, making him a cool, unique member of the cast.

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Damage: Gumball is able to obtain high damage combos for little meter off of many starters, giving him great reward and even ToD potential.
  • Evasiveness: His 5A being an invincible reflector and 6A moving him upwards gives him unique benefits in many interactions.
  • Neutral: Many of Gumball's buttons are stubby and committal, which can make winning neutral difficult, especially without meter.
  • Tag: Having by far the worst tag in the game, Gumball can have trouble getting in or providing utility to his team member.

1 - - - - - Invincible ?-?, Reflector ?-?, Armor Break ?-?, Restrain

Waveshine is yet again an incredibly good option, with its invincibility and reflective property making it a strong defensive option. It is also a core part of Gumball's combo game, especially in the corner, where it can be comboed off of.

6A
Damage Startup Active Landing Lag Magnitude Angle Misc.
1 - - - - - Spinstun ?-?

A divekick that rises before coming down. While committal and small, the divekick is incredibly rewarding to land.

4A

1, 1 - - - - - Finisher (1st Hit)

Gumball weilds a master's sword and does a spinning attack, which (finally) can combo into the finisher for 2 damage.

  • Can sometimes fall out at max range.

Super (4 Bars)
Damage Startup Active Landing Lag Magnitude Angle Misc.
2, 1 - - - - - Invincible 0-?, Finisher (1st Hit)

A standard super in terms of damage, is unique for its large hitbox and long active frames, as well as its relative difficulty to punish on failure due to long invincibility.

Strategy

Composition

Gumball is generally run as an Anchor due to his generally poor neutral, often relying on his Point to get the opponent to the corner and him safely in, where he can then dish out high corner damage.
