Overview

Kelsey is a new character to the Jump Jousts series. Sporting a small size with high mobility, Kelsey is balanced by an interesting weakness, the startup on her moves. This results in her having a very unique playstyle relative to other characters.


Strengths Weaknesses
  • Evasiveness: Having a very small hurtbox, a parry special, and a hurtbox shift on 4A, Kelsey can be incredibly hard to hit.
  • Super: Kelsey's super can be comboed off of, giving her up to 5 damage combos in the right matchups and positions.
  • Tech Chasing: 4A is a strong option to beat tech mashing and 6A is strong for beating back jumps attempting to disengage.
  • Safety on Hit: Many of Kelsey's moves can be unsafe on hit without specific hitboxes or spacing, especially against bigger characters.
  • One Chance: Kelsey's biggest win condition is to land her super, which can be difficult against characters with more evasive properties or give less reward due to their weight.
  • Weight: Many attacks are very advantaged on hit against Kelsey.

A flurry of sword swings. Its long total duration can result in it being unsafe on hit if early hits are connected on heavier characters. Hitbox matches swinging so will sometimes just whiff in combos.

Kelsey readies her sword then unleashes a flurry of slashes across the screen. Is often unavoidable for many characters and gives her various combos depending on the other character's weight. Characters who can avoid it often have an easy time doing so due to the super's slow startup.
