Combo Primer

Common Openers

  • 5L is an easy move to hit confirm from and is advantageous on block.
  • AA 5L is a very reliable anti air that can lead to solid damage for Rice.
  • 5H is a bit hard to hit confirm but is often the move Rice uses the most in neutral.
  • 4H is a very good starter if Rice can hit it close enough for Slap afterwards, if Rice has meter, or if it hits as an anti-air.
  • 5S is Rice's most reliable anti-air, but can only be converted from with meter or in the corner.

Rice's main anti-air conversion off Swipe. At ranges where Rice cannot convert with Whip, they are forced to go directly into Swat. At closer ranges, Rice can cancel into Whip Pounce for a point blank knockdown with less damage. Rice can also go into Swipe for a further knockdown with more damage, however Swipe ender requires the closest spacing.
