A string of injured Pawmot has trainers all over Paldea looking for the culprit, said to be an abnormally large Donphan.  Some more superstitious searchers, however, claim the perpetrator is not a Donphan at all, but something only heard of in stories and legends - a Pokémon referred to by the codename [[Pokemon: Close Combat/Great Tusk|<big>'''Great Tusk'''</big>]]. We would like to remind readers that these so-called "Paradox Pokémon" have not been proven to exist...but it might be worth bringing a camera along, just in case.
[[Pokemon: Close Combat/GZapdos|<big>'''G. Zapdos'''</big>]] charges into battle! An oddly dressed stranger gave us a tip to try something called 'Gysahl Greens' to attract this reticent roadrunner, and it worked like a charm!  While this fast feathered fighter may be flightless, it sure isn't fight-less - trainers have already begun to plot out some impressive aerial combos to terrifying results. Give the first community vote winner a try, and get ready to feel the thunder!  (The Close Combat League is not liable for any injuries sustained due to dynamite explosions, fake tunnels painted on walls, or other shenanigans.)

Trainers everywhere have been receiving a mysterious letter, beckoning them to challenge The Path of the Fist. While the motives and message behind this unsigned missive are unclear, one thing is certain - many have set upon the Path already, with a distant rumbling of thunder their only herald. It is all too likely you have received the letter as well. Will you conquer these trials, or break upon the Path? PKMNCC Path HomePage1.png

After a hefty training routine on the Isle of Armor, many participants in Close Combat matches have reported that their Pokémon seem to block attacks more effectively. In fact, guard damage is lower across the board. This should mean guard breaks will be a less common sight in regulation matches, but that doesn't mean you can forget about them completely! In particular, you might want to watch out for the combatant mentioned below...

Battlers who specialize in Heracross training have been employing new strategies, and while the changes may not be as dramatic as previous revamped training methods, we're eager to see trainers spread their wings and fly with the new Heracross Rework! PKMNCC Heracross HomePage1.png

The First Official Close Combat Tournament has concluded! Congratulations to ChunkBrickson for his win with Chesnaught! Recordings of the Top 6 matches can be found at Altilt's youtube channel, with the Grand Finals match being featured on the Battle Capacity channel!

The votes are in - the next combatant will be Galarian Zapdos! Our talented trainers are rapidly closing in on this feisty fighter - the plan is to have it captured sometime next week! Stay tuned!

A New Combatant: G. Zapdos

G. Zapdos charges into battle!
