Strategy
Bears can essentially be treated as a different threat with each of their 3 specials in neutral. Megaphone:
- Can break projectiles
- Can break armor
- Can occasionally convert off plane
Phone:
- Is a restrain
- Breaks armor
- Has the longest range
- Converts the most easily from plane
- Leads to 3 damage conversions with 2 bars through:
Phone > Pan > 4A/6A/Megaphone
Pan:
- Is a spinstun
- Is a reflector
- Has the longest vertical hitbox
- Leads to 2 damage through:
Pan > 4A/6A/Megaphone
As a result, the Bears usually want to be on phone due to its use in neutral. In order to do this, they need to cycle past megaphone. Besides that, they would prefer to accomplish things such as tag punishes with phone or pan and so they may not do the standard combo in order to get on a better cycle.
Composition
Bears are usually ran as an Anchor character due to their high reliance on and good use of meter, which they often rely on the point character to build.
