CC League Trainers across the globe have discovered the wonder of Effort Values...and promptly dumped them all into HP. Combatant health has been re-balanced - everyone is a bit bulkier, with the lower health characters seeing the largest improvements.

After months of taking knees to the gut, combatants rejoice at the new Blaziken Rework! This is the last of the major recodes for the cast of fighters - everyone is now operating on the same framework. Stay tuned for what the future may hold for our Pokémon pugilists!

The Third Official Close Combat Tournament will be beginning soon! Once again, the tournaments will be split into a North/South American league and a EMEA league. Check the Discord server for information on time and dates. Signups are limited, so now's the time to put your name in for a chance at glory, the ability to choose a new character color, and maybe even a mystery prize!

Some tournament organizers are reportedly under investigation for gang activity - these executives have gone rogue, sneaking a new Pokémon into official tournaments with the help of some shady individuals. However, the public has spoken, and voted to allow Scrafty into the Close Combat league, coming in Demo 09! If we get any more information on our upcoming combatant, we'll be sure to update you here!

A New Combatant: Poliwrath

Poliwrath dives into battle! 'Well-rounded' is certainly a good term to describe the newest (and strong competitor for most spherical) addition to the Close Combat roster! This azure amphibian is making a splash with unique mechanics, including a stacking buff that increases the power of its fist attacks! An extra tip for all those trainers looking for a good nights rest - our top investigators report that gazing at its belly for a few minutes is an excellent sleep aid. All glory to the Hypno...uh, frog? Hypnotadpole?
