With guarding strategies having seen a major increase in effectiveness recently, trainers may have been getting a bit too cocky, as our Pokémon combatants have begun to adapt to these changes. In particular, guard health doesn't regenerate fully after a knockdown anymore. Watch the skies for any fierce looking orange birds, especially if you've just been napping on the ground.

Many Mienshao trainers have been arrested under suspicion of illegal combo usage, though all of them insist this is simply due to what they call a Mienshao Rework! Bewear trainers have been also been seen using some new techniques, including an entirely new move! We're hard at work getting the details on the new Bewear Rework as well.

The aforementioned Mienshao players have been released from jail with the issuing of a new executive order, titled 'Demo 07a', preventing any of them from using some particularly suspect combos. Various other changes have been made to combatants with outstanding issues as well. While the patch notes for this release may be relatively short, they're all very significant!

The American League of the Second Official Close Combat Tournament has concluded! Chunk Brickson continues his reign of terror with a stunning victory over ancla.

The next patch, Demo 08, is imminent, and will likely be released within the week! While the combatant to be added in Demo 08 is still a mystery, we've heard some news about the fighter who will come afterwards. Some tournament organizers are reportedly under investigation for gang activity - these executives have gone rogue, sneaking a new Pokemon into official tournaments with the help of some shady individuals. However, the public has spoken, and voted to allow Scrafty into the Close Combat league, coming in Demo 09!

A New Combatant: G. Zapdos

G. Zapdos charges into battle! An oddly dressed stranger gave us a tip to try something called 'Gysahl Greens' to attract this reticent roadrunner, and it worked like a charm! While this fast and feathered fighter may be flightless, it sure isn't fight-less - trainers have already begun to plot out some impressive aerial combos to terrifying results. Give the first community vote winner a try, and get ready to feel the thunder! (The Close Combat League is not liable for any injuries sustained due to dynamite explosions, fake tunnels painted on walls, or other shenanigans.)
