Combo Theory

Zhang Fei's combos are largely structured around one central recipe, with most other combos working off of that base. His ways of spending meter in combos tend not to be particularly impactful outside of MAX Mode, so his primary goal is either using his primary combo to build meter, or converting that same combo into a MAX cancel for further extensions.

BnB Combos

   2B 2A 6C 6D 236A~8A 214B~4B 623A

The One Combo from which all other combos spring forth. You want to input the follow-up to 214B as early as possible so that the slide hits instead of the kick. This will often swap sides when performed in the corner, so be ready to DP in the other direction.

Basic meterless follow-up to Zhang Fei's overhead. You can juggle 623A in the corner.

Standard juggle route off air-to-airs or free juggle states, like Lv2+ Force Attack or 214KK.

MAX Mode Combos

Zhang Fei can MAX cancel both 214B~4B and 623A to transition into MAX Mode loops at any point in his combo. It's very easy for Zhang Fei to maintain juggle states after MAX Mode ends, so if he's got the meter he can very easily follow up with another 214B~4B or 623A and MAX cancel to start another loop.

Midscreen loop, great for corner carry. Hyper hop between each rep to keep it going.

One of his two corner loops. Useful for building Revenge meter thanks to its free cancels, though it's not as if Zhang Fei has much reason to do that.

The more damaging of his MAX Mode loops, and also the funniest due to the camera glitch. Extremely easy to route into MAX cancel for a re-loop.
