Overview
Strengths |
Weaknesses
|
- Strong zoning: Byakuya's U has great range and can lead into combos at any range.
- Great meter build: Byakuya's U has high meter build on whiff and has a low enough recovery where is can build meter efficiently, allowing Byakuya to be able to frequently use Ghost Step and Combo Breakers.
- Strong air game: Byakuya's aerials has great tracking, especially vertically, which allows him to punish in the air unlike most characters.
- Great at catching dashes with meter: Byakuya's I and Air I are tracks the opponent which makes them great tools for punishing dashes.
|
- Below average combo damage: Byakuya's combos are not great compared to many other characters without landing a grab so he requires winning neutral more times than the opponent because of it.

- Tracks the opponent if possible, but has limited horizontal range so you need to be a specific distance for it to hit the opponent.
- While not the most rewarding unless used close to the ground, it's a pretty solid punish option in some cases, especially when you are going above your opponent's attacks.

Other Information
Recommended Assists
- Minato - Minato is great for helping Byakuya punish the opponent in ranges he normally can't without meter and also starts a combo.
- Ino - Byakuya has setups with Ino after a knockdown that allows him to cover dash and block, giving him a free combo.
- Utakata - After a knockdown, Byakuya has use his I and Utakata simultaneously to create and unblockable situation that force the opponent to get his by Byakuya's I or block both his I and the assist which leads into a guaranteed grab which gives Byakuya a free combo. Utakata also allows Byakuya to do a 60% combo off of a grab.
- Obito - Byakuya has unblockable I setups with the Obito assist since Byakuya's I attacks in the front and Obito attacks from behind and the opponent is unable to block both sides.
Transformations
Byakuya can transform into New Bankai Byakuya.
