Introduction

This pop princess will ruin your day. YUMELODY is a rushdown character with some unique anti-zoning tools that really keep the pressure on the opponent. Her hyperdrive combos are consistent and dangerous, and her safe aggression wears down her foes’ defenses. Number One Hit is very safe when spaced, and can be hard to contest. Fan Favorite is a game changing projectile reflector that can make some matchups hell.

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Jack of All Traits: YUMELODY is graceful and quick on the battlefield, able to avoid incoming attacks from slower characters and stand her ground against faster characters. She has good dash distance and a good jump, which is more than some characters can say.
  • Great Pressure: YUMELODY is good at using fast pokes to keep her opponent on their toes.
  • Godlike buttons: s.H is a really good anti-air, Number One Hit is a great poke, and she can convert easily into hyperdrive from her light attacks. Excels at killing you once you are touched.
  • Meter Gain: Because YUMELODY is generally dealing many hits, she finds it easy to gain meter, which only adds to her devastating combo game.
  • ?????: If YUMELODY has any weaknesses, they haven't been discovered yet.

Unique Tools

YUMELODY is the only character in the game that can reflect projectiles back at the attacker. This, combined with her ability to safely approach with Number One Hit, allows her to dictate when and where neutral happens. Her aerial attacks both persist indefinitely, making her jump in game a little nicer.

  • One of YUMELODY's less powerful aspects. This jump-in does low damage, doesn't have the best hitbox, and most of the time, you'll have better options in neutral.

  • A great poke. With proper spacing, it can be made safe, although still a tiny bit minus on block.

RO H.png 80 15 20 16 Knockdown -29 Mid 20 - -
  • The heavier, slower version of the move. Isn't used as often due to its worse frame data all-around not making up for the increase in damage and range.

  • Meter is generally better off being spent in Hyperdrive combos, not to mention YUMELODY has better ways of getting in without spending it. Still, it can see occasional use.

  • Prepare to see this move a lot in combos, because while it's generally outclassed as an anti-air, it's a great combo tool.

  • The move pretty much all of YUMELODY's metered combos ends with. It can do some great damage to finish things off.

  • An incredibly slow projectile. Not really necessary for YUMELODY to use this because her meter is better spent on Hyperdrive.
