Introduction

Satsuki Kiryuin (鬼龍院 皐月)

She is the president of Honnōji Academy's Student Council and the ruler over the surrounding land. She has absolute authority over the academy and is regarded with reverence by many of its residents.

Overview

Satsuki Kiryuin, her intimidating presence only dwarfed by her might on the battlefield. Wielding the Life Fiber severing blade Bakuzan and the fearsome Junketsu, Satsuki is a strong and flexible all-rounder with tools for nearly any situation on the battlefield. She can keep characters who excel at close quarters combat away with her projectiles or chase them down and smash them flat with her power. She possesses fantastic close range attacks a great array of projectiles with wide or tall hitboxes, ones that flat out home in on your target, or projectiles that curve around the stage. Her two central faults however are her low health stat, at 9,500 HP, and the overly generous amounts of meter she gives the opponent on hit. Satsuki will be forced back into neutral quite often with how much meter she gives the opponent, but her neutral and ability to unblockable her opponents is so strong she won't struggle much to get more hits in and take out the opponent, death by a thousand cuts style. With all being said, it's hard to go wrong picking Satsuki Kiryuin.

Playstyle
KLKIF Satsuki Icon.png Satsuki is a powerful all-rounder made to dominate the battlefield with her versatility.
Pros Cons
  • Ace of All Trades: Satsuki is not only extremely versatile, but strong in nearly every area of the game and style of play. Her match-up spread is also very consistent and favorable as a result.
  • Unblockables: Satsuki can perform near guaranteed unblockables with little to no setup required as she can freely perform them in neutral. These unblockables can be performed at nearly any range from up close to afar with 5[B] and j.B.
  • Neutral: Satsuki has many difficult to contest moves such as 2/8A, 5AAAC, 5BA, 5[B], d.B, j.B, and Light Chase. These allow her to dominate neutral, snipe opponents, and control the flow of the game.
  • Clash Queen: A large majority of Satsuki's moves are prone to clashing often and have very long clash times, to the point where getting clashes with certain moves such as j.BA is better for confirms and combos than hitting the opponent with it.
  • Low Health: Satsuki only has 9,500 health, so if she gets too careless and makes a mistake she can easily get two touched by most characters if they land a hit on her.
  • Munificent: Satsuki has very high meter give on her attacks, especially on her Guard Breaks. Due to this, her combos will be bursted very often resulting in low damage for her in most interactions and she will be reset back into neutral frequently.

Valor Level 1

  • Increased damage and priority for all Close Range Attacks (excluding Specials/Supers).
  • 2/8A prorate reduced from 25 to 0.
  • j.A gains Uppercut Invulnerability on startup.
