Bloody Roar Extreme/Yugo the Wolf

Introduction

Yugo is a powerful, well-rounded brawler/boxer character who, while having more of a focus on rushdown, is also able to play more defensively when needed. His Flicker stance is the best stance in the game, allowing Yugo to pressure his opponent or deal highly damaging combos; on top of this, Yugo gets an amazing command throw that has very long range and leads into either a full combo or the aforementioned stance, making him extremely scary up close. Yugo's mobility is also great: as a boxing character, he has many sways, and can quickly weave in and out of ranges while evading attacks and punishing attempts to strike him. Yugo's main drawbacks come from his propensity to being low-profiled, along with an ironically low amount of low attacks.

Playstyle

Pros Cons
  • Has Almost Everything: There's very little that Yugo cannot do. Whether it be using his strong movement to work his way in and out of the opponent's ranges or enforcing his incredibly threatening pressure, Yugo has multiple strong options for just about every situation he can find himself in.
  • Flicker Stance: Yugo's Flicker Stance is in contention for the best stance in the game, thanks to its numerous options for conducting looping pressure strings that force the opponent to take a risk on defense.
  • Terrifying Throw Mixups: Yugo's command grab helps tie his close-range offense together. It leads to some incredibly damaging combos and mixup situations, forcing opponents to constantly be wary of its threat.
  • Limited Mixup: While Yugo is certainly not without good lows, they're few and far between, which forces him to rely primarily on his throws if he wants to open up his opponents.
  • Weak To Low Profile: Much of Yugo's kit is susceptible to being low profiled by many attacks, as well as the universal prone stance, which means knowledgeable opponents may force him to use more specific options to keep them in check.
